Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after intense storm systems passed over the region, generating wind gusts hitting 109km/h.

Rescue organizations responded to nearly 600 requests for assistance across the region, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

During the peak on Sunday, in excess of 28,000 power users in the state were experiencing outages.
Climate Outlook
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with continued severe weather risk expected across different parts of both regions.
