It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a team that has achieved everything.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batters to maintain a record if not provided the possibility.

In the end, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a platform to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 championship-filled years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Many contend the case for final game tension. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this innings was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in training, it's been a challenging time because I feel like I lacked timing whatsoever," said Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your fighting spirit activate and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her key asset - and a priceless quality in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from there Healy was in motion.

"The possibility to play and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

When she was out her side required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the belief to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if we do, we believe we can succeed."

Those words will be the last rival teams at this championship should hear.

In recent days a sense they will win from any position has only strengthened - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was at that stage they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she later said she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those physical issues have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this championship is expected to be her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as leader.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
